Frequently Asked Questions
Once you sign up, one of our designers will create a website specifically for your community, whether it is a local village community or a more niche online community. This usually takes about 14 days. You're welcome to suggest your own colour scheme, fonts and design ideas if you wish. If you have a logo send it over, if you don't, we'll create you a simple logo for free!
You can easily maintain your new website by signing into our online content management system. Once signed in you can create pages, amend content, upload images / files and much more. You can have more than one user account if you'd like and users can have different editing permissions.
If you get stuck simply give us a call and the developer who built your site will be on hand to help you out. Unlimited support is included with all our community website packages assuming your request falls within the limits of our fair usage policy. We're also happy to provide training via Zoom or over the phone.
Yes we can – although this does cost extra. We offer a comprehensive media service featuring professional photography and filmography. We can create short films for your website, galleries of professional photos and even multi-camera live streaming to your site from our purpose built OB van! As well as web-based video, we've worked with traditional broadcasters having provided film for the BBC, ITV, Granada and CTVCanada. Give us a call and we'll quote for your specific requirements.
There are two tiers which are detailed at the bottom of this page. Tier 1 costs £100 to build and then £20 each calendar month to host and support. Tier 2 costs £500 to build and then £40 each calendar month to host and support. There is no minimum contract – you can end the contract after one month if you wish with no financial penalty. Our prices are fixed for 2 years. All quoted prices are exclusive of VAT.
No. Our flexible payment model means you can cancel your contract at any time. We're happy to guarantee our service for 6, 12 or 24 months if a council or community group would prefer to pay up front for a period of time.
If you decide to leave you can simply cancel your contract at the end of the current calendar month. Along with your website data, any website designed for your organisation by ourselves during your contract is yours to keep. We will send you your website as open-source HTML/CSS/Javascript which you can pass onto a new web-developer as required. The content management system remains property of ThenMedia and won't be transferred to a third party.
